‘
Pi is used in every single solution when operating
Opportunities. Today, robots are used like radians, humans
like degrees but Pi is the only translator.’
The study of the 250-year-old concept of ‘pi’ has always been
theoretical, nobody cares to investigate the beauty of its facts
which lie beyond our conscience. From calculating its value
by dividing the diameter of a circle from its circumference, pi
stands to be a unique number on its own with never ending
decimal value!
The usefulness of pi has been a matter of interest and is loved
by a lot of math enthusiasts. Using pi in circle related
problems, plays a key role in solving other calculations like
building and construction, quantum physics, communication,
music theories, medical procedures, space flight and air travel
to name a few. It is considered and even used by NASA to
understand the trajectories of different celestial bodies of the
universe!
Pi stands be the most unique and amazing function of all. It
has contributed a lot in the development of science from
finding the values of various trigonometric functions, like
sine, cosine, tangent etc. to calculating circular velocities of
various moving vehicles, voltage across a coil and what not…
In the wake of the increasing environmental programmes, pi is
being used to measure ocean waves, light and sound waves,
river bends, radioactive particles by using a series of circles!!
Pi has proved to be so helpful that it has become a part of real-
life activities. Statisticians use pi to track the population
dynamics. Medical oculists use it to study the structure of eye
and DNA, physicist to know about the behaviour of ripples in
water, designers take its reference while designing the clock
pendulums. Even the technological developers used pi in the
creation of global positioning system (GPS).
How pleasing it is to have such a remarkable discovery in the
field of mathematics. This number has empowered us to know
and discover so many new concepts and will help for many
more in the coming times. It has made us realise that how
delightful maths can be.
We can say that an never-ending number has given the
humankind the zeal to learn the boundless concepts of life!
